Sweet Me Photography's FAQs
Sweet Me Photography sessions take place in the convenience of your home. We bring the studio to you so that you don’t have to take your new baby to an outside studio. Our portable newborn studio includes backdrops and lighting to photograph newborn images in the style seen in our gallery. We routinely photograph in homes of all sizes as we only need about 6’ x 8’ of space.
Sweet Me Photography brings the entire newborn studio to your home! We bring all the props for your baby – including lighting, heating, accessories, hats, headbands, bowties, wraps, blankets, buckets, backgrounds). Photographers bring a full variety of props to your session and you will have the opportunity to pick your favorite colors and styles before you get started. If you have a specific outfit and/or keepsake that you want to include in the session, we will absolutely do our best to incorporate it as well. We capture a variety of different looks at your session. We typically use three different backgrounds (your color choices) and different poses for each background as you see in our gallery. For each pose, we do change out some of the props and accessories. Additionally, we capture several angles of each pose to offer you a variety of options in your gallery. At the start of your session, you will have the opportunity to view our different colors and styles and pick your favorites!

We schedule sessions 7 days a week. Since sessions take several hours, the majority of our sessions begin in the morning. If you would like a later morning start time or afternoon appointment, please request so in your contact form comments or directly to us. We can look at available options for this preference. We strongly suggest you do not schedule any other scheduled appointments the day of your session.
It’s never too early to schedule a session! Most moms schedule in their 2nd trimester, as it ensures they reserve a spot during the first few weeks (the ideal time for posed newborn photography). Also, since you don’t typically know exactly when your baby will arrive, it gives you priority in adjusting the date of your session. But we absolutely try our best to accommodate every baby, even for last-minute sessions after baby has arrived. Please click HERE to fill out our short contact form and we will get back to you with a suggested session date.
The ideal time to photograph your baby in the posed newborn style you see in our gallery is within the first few weeks after birth. We do routinely photograph slightly older babies, however, it does become less likely we can capture all the poses you see in our gallery with baby more alert and active. Preemies can typically be photographed a bit older than a full-term baby. To check availability for scheduling your session, please click HERE to complete our short contact form and we will get in touch regarding an available session date.
In most cases, we are able to still schedule your newborn session as long as your baby is still within the successful timeframe for a newborn session and we have availability.
Health and safety is our top priority, and we take numerous precautions at our sessions to mitigate any risk for your family and our photographers. Our props and equipment are fully cleaned and sanitized before each session. In addition to our already high standards of handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer throughout the session, your photographer will also wear a mask upon request. If you would like to be matched with a COVID-vaccinated photographer, please make a request in the comments section of your inquiry form.

Click HERE to complete our short contact form so we can get in touch with you. We will reach out by the next business day to offer an available session date and answer any questions. If your baby has not yet arrived, we will keep in touch and prioritize adjusting your session date if baby arrives earlier or later than expected.
We always check in one week before your session date for an update on your baby’s arrival. If your baby arrives before we reach out, just contact us at booking@sweetmephotography.com or by calling us at 800.773.7009 so we can look at pulling your session up to an earlier date. Similarly, if your baby arrives late, we can push your session date out. We definitely want your session to be at the most ideal time for our posing style as possible.
Once a session is booked, we reserve the photographer’s time and do not book the photographer for other sessions. We do prioritize changing dates based on baby’s arrival with pre-booked clients. For a full cancellation, you can receive a full refund if at least 72 hours notice before your session.

Every Sweet Me Photographer has expertise and passion for newborn photography and is local to your specific area. Our photographers bring safety, experience, and quality to the convenience of your home and everything needed to photograph your beautiful baby! You will get a chance to speak with your photographer a few days before your session to go over any style preferences and session details. If you would like to see an example of your photographer’s portfolio, just request it at the time of booking.
We are frequently asked about tipping your photographer. Tipping is encouraged and much appreciated if you loved your experience!
We lightly retouch your baby’s images, primarily removing any scratches, red spots, bruising or blotchiness from the delivery while maintaining your baby’s character and natural beauty. If you have a special editing request for your baby, please inform your photographer so we can do our best to take care of it in our final editing. An integral part of our service is delivering edited and retouched images that represent Sweet Me’s style and brand. We do not release any unedited RAW images.
We provide affordable and professional quality prints and canvases that can be ordered directly from your final gallery. This is completely optional since you own the digital files, but we do urge you to use a professional lab when you print your photos. You invested in a professional newborn session, and you will want any images you print to also represent the high quality portraits you have captured.
