Sweet Me Photography's FAQs
Sweet Me Photography sessions take place in the convenience of your home. We bring the studio to you so that you don’t have to take your new baby to an outside studio. Our portable newborn studio includes backdrops and lighting to photograph newborn images in the style seen in our gallery. We routinely photograph in homes of all sizes as we only need about 5’ x 8’ of space.
Sweet Me Photography brings the entire newborn studio to your home! We bring all the props for your baby – including lighting, heating, accessories, hats, headbands, bowties, wraps, blankets, buckets, backgrounds). Photographers bring a full variety of props to your session and you will have the opportunity to pick your favorite colors and styles before you get started. If you have a specific outfit and/or keepsake that you want to include in the session, we will absolutely do our best to incorporate it as well. We capture a variety of different looks at your session. We typically use three different backgrounds (your color choices) and different poses for each background as you see in our gallery. For each pose, we do change out some of the props and accessories. Additionally, we capture several angles of each pose to offer you a variety of options in your gallery. At the start of your session, you will have the opportunity to view our different colors and styles and pick your favorites!
We schedule sessions 7 days a week. Since sessions take approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours, our sessions all begin in the morning. Sessions could run longer depending on baby. We strongly suggest you do not schedule any other appointments for the day of your session.

It’s never too early to schedule a session! Most moms schedule in their 2nd trimester, as it ensures they reserve a spot during the first few weeks (the ideal time for posed newborn photography). Also, since you don’t typically know exactly when your baby will arrive, it gives you priority in adjusting the date of your session. But we absolutely try our best to accommodate every baby, even for last-minute sessions after baby has arrived up to approximately one month old. Please click HERE to fill out our short contact form and we will get back to you with a suggested session date.
The ideal time to photograph your baby in the posed newborn style you see in our gallery is within the first few weeks after birth. We do routinely photograph babies up to approximately one month old, however, it does become less likely we can capture all the poses you see in our gallery with baby more alert and active. Preemies can typically be photographed a bit older than a full-term baby. To check availability for scheduling your session, please click HERE to complete our short contact form and we will get in touch regarding an available session date.
In most cases, we are able to still schedule your newborn session as long as your baby is still within the successful timeframe for a newborn session and we have availability.
Yes, we do photograph twins and triplets, and bring extra props to accommodate the babies. Our twin and triplet sessions capture images of each twin individually and together. See our Packages page for details.
Click HERE to complete our short contact form so we can get in touch with you. We will reach out by the next business day to offer an available session date and time and answer any questions. If your session is less than a month away full payment is due at the time you book. If your session is over a month away the session can be scheduled with a small deposit and then payments divided up to be paid prior to the session. The amount of the deposit and the number of payments depends on how far in advance you are booking. You will receive an email with all of the deposit and payment options when you fill out our contact form.
We always check in one week before your session date for an update on your baby’s arrival. If your baby arrives before we reach out, just contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling us at 800.773.7009 so we can pull your session up to an earlier date. Similarly, if your baby arrives late, we can push your session date out. We definitely want your session to be at the most ideal time for our posing style as possible.
Once a session is booked, we reserve the photographer’s time and do not book her for other sessions. We can absolutely accommodate a need to change your session date when it’s due to the baby’s early or late arrival at no charge, but we cannot provide a refund on sessions that are booked and then cancelled entirely.
Please see our Packages page for a full list of our newborn packages. Sweet Me Photography strongly believes in providing an affordable, transparent and convenient service for our clients. Therefore, we have simplified our packages to offering one upfront Newborn Package which includes both the in-home session and a selection of 8 of your favorite digital files. You will have the opportunity to purchase additional images after you receive your preview gallery.
After your baby arrives and before your session, we will send you a confirmation email with some tips on how to prepare for your session. Your photographer will bring everything you will need for your newborn session, so there really isn’t much you need to prepare.

Sweet Me Photography recruits professionally-trained newborn photographers. Each photographer has been selected based on her expertise and passion in newborn photography. Our photographers are local to a specific region and are all trained in photographing “Sweet Me Style”. A few days prior to your session, your scheduled photographer will call and introduce herself and answer any final pre-session questions.
We lightly retouch your baby’s images, primarily removing any scratches, red spots, bruising or blotchiness from the delivery while maintaining your baby’s character and natural beauty. If you have a special editing request for your baby, please inform your photographer so we can do our best to take care of it in our final editing.
We provide affordable and professional quality prints and canvases that can be ordered directly from your final gallery. This is completely optional since you own the digital files, but we do urge you to use a professional lab when you print your photos. You invested in a professional newborn session, and you will want any images you print to also represent the high quality portraits you have captured.
